August 16, 2025, Moscow, Kuzminki Park
On this summer day, the capital will become a territory of kindness, participation and quick steps towards change. A large-scale charity run, Run for a Friend, organized by the Nika Foundation for Helping Homeless Animals, will take place in Kuzminki Park. This is not just a sporting event – it is an act of mercy in which each participant helps those who cannot ask for help themselves.
The race is dedicated to the World Homeless Animal Day. All funds raised will be used to support more than 800 dogs and cats in the foundation's shelters. You can join the race in person in Moscow or remotely from anywhere in the world - it's not where you run that matters, but for whom.
The program includes:
-
Distances of 2 and 5 km - for everyone who is ready to test their strength
-
Special runs with pets - run side by side with your four-legged friend
-
Children's 1 km and 500 m starts - a touching introduction of children to the idea of helping
-
Exhibition-adoption - more than 100 animals will be looking for new owners
-
Art spaces, master classes, interactive zones, photo areas, quizzes and holidays for the whole family
-
Pet therapy, gifts, raffles and participation of famous guests
Vera Mitina, President of the Nika Foundation, notes:
"We created this race not out of pity, but out of a desire to inspire. Help is about strength, about choosing to be caring. It is an opportunity to turn an ordinary day into an event that changes lives - both animals and people."
Each participant will receive a starter pack, a personal chip for recording time, a medal, and gifts from the event partners.
Participate wherever you are:
If you are not in Moscow, this is not a reason to stay away. The online format allows you to run in any city and become part of a large movement that unites people and their love for animals.
Start: 9:00
