In the Russian capital, off-site marriage registrations are becoming increasingly popular. Over the past three years, over 25,000 Moscow couples have chosen to legalize their relationship this way.
For the past 10 years, Moscow has maintained its leadership in the number of marriages. In April 2022 alone, approximately 9,000 couples got married here.
The Moscow Civil Registry Office press service provided statistics for the past three years. According to them, during this period, 25,000 couples chose to get married in non-standard outdoor locations.
The selection of venues suitable for marriage registration is constantly expanding. Today, at least 30 interesting options are available for those wishing to get married:
-
metro stations;
-
loft spaces;
-
memorable historical places;
-
ancient estates;
-
temples, etc.
Registering at an off-site location does not require any additional expenses. As S. Ukhaneva, head of the Moscow Civil Registry Office, clarified, only the standard state fee is required.
The Oko Tower , located in the center of Moscow-City , has been named one of the most popular wedding venues. Over the course of the project's existence, nearly 2,000 couples have visited it. Other popular locations among newlyweds include the Spiridonov Mansion and the Safisa wedding venue.
