The end of 2019 marked the opening of Black Star Fitness , a two-story fitness club in Moscow City's Mercury Tower . It offers a beautifully designed, ergonomic workout space with a minimalist interior, complemented by futuristic biotech elements.
One of its founders was the renowned rap musician and producer Timur Yunusov, better known to the general public as Timati. He is the sole owner of the Black Star brand and association, under whose auspices the new fitness club operates. In fact, his connection to rap culture ends there, along with a few graffiti adorning the interior.
Every club member has access to the unique TRX Maps system. It allows for a 30-second posture and movement assessment, which immediately displays a 3D visualization on a special monitor with detailed information about the participant's physical condition and highlights any weaknesses. All that's required to complete the test is to squat three times in front of the device.
The fitness club's total area is no less than 3,500 square meters, with 1,000 square meters dedicated to the gym. It features premium-class equipment from manufacturers such as Life Fitness and Hammer Strength. The gym is cleverly delineated, with distinct zones:
-
free weights with full sets of barbells and dumbbells;
-
block trainers for comprehensive training of the trapezius, deltoid and pectoral muscles;
-
Cardiovascular equipment equipped with a Discover HD touchscreen console with specialized software for participating in online competitions and tracking your progress.
Black Star Fitness also has a CrossFit space for functional training. But the club's true pride is the intelligent Reax Balance platform. It can recognize the movements of those on it and destabilize their position. The goal is to maintain balance, which requires constant active movement and focus, significantly increasing the effectiveness of the workout. The platform allows for the use of additional accessories and the selection of the optimal type of workout and intensity. Black Star Fitness trainers recommend it to most members, as it helps quickly restore physical fitness after the forced period of self-isolation.
Black Star Fitness features a cycle studio equipped with IC7 machines and an octagon for martial arts enthusiasts, including classic and Muay Thai boxing, grappling, and MMA. For those who want to not only build muscle but also learn beneficial body control, the club also offers tatami mats, punching bags, and water bags.
The fitness club offers its clients 23 exercise programs, including, in addition to all types of yoga and dance, the following:
-
Body Pump – group training sessions that involve working with a barbell;
-
Body Combat – powerful cardio workouts, the program of which was created by Les Mills trainers;
-
Body Balance – comprehensive exercises to improve body flexibility and stretching, including elements of yoga, stretching, Pilates and kinesiotherapy;
-
TRX is a program that involves performing exercises on suspension loops, etc.
Black Star Fitness's 25-meter, four-lane pool with a counter-current system is also worth mentioning. Its pool is a unique black color, and in addition to the breathtaking views from the panoramic windows, swimmers can also enjoy the delightful tropical garden surrounding the pool area. Club members can also relax by the pool in specially designed lounge areas, a sauna, or a hammam with views of the capital. And if they've worked up an appetite after a workout, members can visit the on-site fitness bar, which serves signature cuisine.
The Black Star Fitness concept can be summed up as "everyone's in." This implies a gathering of high-status individuals striving for new heights and significant results. Therefore, the club places a strong emphasis on safety, and recently, on anti-epidemic measures.
