The Bagration Bridge , which connects the banks of the Moskva River and leads to the Moscow City business district, is now prohibited from using personal vehicles such as bicycles, mopeds, electric scooters, and roller skates. This decision was made to ensure pedestrian safety and prevent accidents.
According to information posted at the bridge entrances, access to the bridge with any means of transportation other than wheelchairs and strollers is now prohibited. This especially applies to couriers, who must leave their vehicles before the bridge and continue on foot.
Bridge security personnel are actively monitoring compliance with the new regulations. The decision to ban the crossing was confirmed by representatives of Gals-Development, the bridge's management company. They noted that such measures are necessary to ensure pedestrian safety and the proper operation of the bridge infrastructure, including escalators. The restrictions are due to the design of the bridge, which was built in 1997 and was not originally intended for use by private vehicles.
Any questions or comments?
Hello. My question concerns what I read above, regarding the ban on entering the Bagration pedestrian bridge with bicycles/scooters and other SIMs. I completely agree that it is unacceptable to ride bicycles/scooters and other mobile devices on pedestrian crossings (and this bridge is also a pedestrian crossing). But how could it be possible to prohibit bringing this sports equipment onto the bridge with you in order to cross from one bank to the other? The bridge is not an attraction that you can enter or not enter; it is a strategically important object that serves to move people between the banks of the Moscow River. There is no other way to get to the other bank except the bridge. Maybe it was a typo after all, that it is now prohibited to enter the bridge with any means of transportation? A person has a bicycle with him. He needs to get to the other side of the river. And what should he do? Leaving his vehicles in front of the bridge and continuing the journey on foot, as was written above, is impossible, since citizens need to continue their journey together with their bicycle/scooter on the route home/to work across the bridge, without returning back. The ban should be specifically on riding a SIM on the bridge, but not on crossing from a bicycle/scooter on foot. Please comment on this situation.
