The Moscow City business district has acquired a new architectural landmark: the iCITY complex, attracting attention with its vibrant and innovative architecture. Time Tower, one of the complex's two high-rises, is 95 percent complete. Moscow's Chief Architect, Sergey Kuznetsov, announced that the new building's exterior is already available for viewing.
Construction stages
The construction of the complex is in its final stages:
- The main construction and façade works have been completed.
- Vertical transport systems have been installed.
- Internal engineering systems have been installed.
- Commissioning and finishing works are underway.
- Improvement of the surrounding area is underway.
Unique features of the iCITY complex
The iCITY project, developed by MR Group, embodies the "smart building" concept. These skyscrapers are equipped with an advanced control system that minimizes human error and reduces the likelihood of failures.
The complex's architectural design, created under the direction of world-renowned architect Helmut Jahn, is distinguished by dynamic red vertical accents adorning both the buildings' facades and interiors. The iCITY project was Jahn's final work, conceived of the towers as a new symbol of Moscow.
Control and supervision
- General designer: Russian architectural bureau TPO Pride.
- The project started in 2020.
- Mosgosstroynadzor regularly inspects all stages of construction, monitoring the quality of work and materials. Twenty inspections have been conducted.
Opinions of project participants
Maria Litinetskaya, CEO of MR Group, noted:
"The iCITY project has already become an important part of Moscow City's updated look. With the overall construction over 90% complete and the façade work nearly complete, the towers with their vibrant red accents have already enhanced the city's skyline."
