MR Group has unveiled updated renderings of its new project on the first site of Moscow City. The residential complex, part of the district's updated concept, is planned to be one of the tallest residential towers in Europe, with a maximum height of 376 meters. The project not only continues the traditions of modern construction in Moscow City but also embodies philosophical and aesthetic ideas.
Architectural concept: the Möbius strip as a symbol of infinity
The architectural concept is based on the image of the Möbius strip—a symbol of infinity, duality, and the harmonious union of opposites. This design emphasizes the connection between traditional and futuristic architecture, transforming the complex into a symbolic "entrance" to a new era of urbanism. The building's unique geometry emphasizes the dynamism of its form and creates the impression of continuous movement, reflecting the city's evolution and its vision for the future.
Project characteristics
The residential complex will occupy 305,000 square meters, including premium residential spaces, modern public areas, and commercial infrastructure. Due to its location and scale, the building will become an important part of the architectural image of Moscow City, integrating modern trends in vertical living.
History of the site
Initial construction work on this site began in 2019 with the One Tower project, planned as a 444-meter skyscraper. The project was developed by Sergey Skuratov's architectural firm, and the main investor was the city holding company Mosinzhproekt. Investprofi, a Capital Group company, served as the general contractor.
The initial stage of the project included complex engineering tasks, including excavation and pile foundation, for which over 9.4 billion rubles were allocated. However, construction was suspended in 2020, and the project remained on hold until the end of 2023.
Revival of the project
In November 2023, the site was acquired by MR Group, which unveiled a new architectural concept in April 2024. The design was adapted to modern requirements and features an oval shape, emphasizing the concept of dynamism and harmony. Work is currently underway to strengthen the pile foundation and modernize the existing excavation pit.
Significance for Moscow City
This project represents a new stage in the development of Moscow City, combining residential and commercial functions. The skyscraper will become not only the tallest residential building in Moscow but also an architectural symbol of the unity of the past and the future. MR Group emphasizes that additional details, including the complex's internal infrastructure, will be unveiled soon.
