The Moscow City pedestrian zone now boasts its first-ever skating rink with natural ice, according to the Moscow Department of Transport's Telegram channel.
"This is the first time a free ice rink has been introduced in the Moscow City pedestrian zone! Spread across 240 square meters, it's decorated in keeping with the Moscow transport theme. Visitors are provided with amenities such as a changing room and free skate rentals," the statement reads.
The location of the skating rink is conveniently marked: it is located at the second exit from the large circle line of the Delovoy Tsentr metro station, next to an installation shaped like the letter "M".
"The Moscow-City area has always attracted Muscovites and visitors to the capital for strolls. Given its excellent transport accessibility, including several metro stations, the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), and the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD), we expect the skating rink to be very popular," noted Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, as quoted on the department's Telegram channel.
According to the source, the skating rink will be open every day until the end of January, from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with free admission.
