As part of the strategic development of the Moscow city transport network, a significant event took place, strengthening the status of the capital as a leading business and transport hub of the country. On a bright day, under the auspices of the city authorities, a ceremonial event was held, at which the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, announced the opening of a new, northern vestibule at the Moscow-City railway station, which is part of the large-scale MCD-4 project.
This new infrastructure element is a key link in the creation of a single, multifunctional transport system that ensures seamless integration between various types of urban transport, including the metro, the Moscow Central Circle and the Moscow Central Diameters. It is based on the idea of convenience and accessibility of transport services for thousands of passengers arriving daily in Moscow City, Russia's leading business center.
Sergei Sobyanin emphasized the strategic importance of this project for the development of urban space, where each element of the transport network contributes to ensuring the comfort and efficiency of movement for Muscovites and guests of the capital. According to him, "the northern vestibule will not only improve transport accessibility, but will also become an important point of contact between residential areas and business activity in the Presnensky District, contributing to a 40% increase in passenger traffic and the creation of a favorable urban environment."
In addition, the city mayor outlined plans to expand the Moscow-City infrastructure, including the construction of new metro stations, which will allow for an even deeper integration of the station complex into the citywide transport network. These actions herald a new stage in the development of the city's infrastructure, where each innovation contributes to improving the quality of life for city residents and strengthening Moscow's position as a global business center.
Situated on the historic site of the former Testovskaya station, the Moscow-City city station now occupies a strategic position between the Kutuzovskaya and Belorusskaya stations, becoming an important link in the development of urban transport and public space in the capital.
