Starting September 9, parking near the Moscow-City business district will become 50% more expensive. One hour of daytime parking will cost 600 rubles, while at night, the price will drop to 400 rubles. Interestingly, this will make it the highest parking rate of any urban area in Russia. Currently, the highest rate in Moscow is 450 rubles.
It's also worth noting the changes to the payment system: payment will now begin immediately after passing through the barrier, and even for short periods of less than an hour, the driver will be charged a full hour. However, taxis with valid licenses and orders will have a 20-minute grace period. Previously, parking in this area cost 400 rubles at any time of day, and a 10-minute grace period was provided.
Parliament is discussing an initiative that would require the price of paid parking to be correlated with the rate of income growth in order to avoid exorbitant service costs for residents.
