Moscow continues its large-scale urban renewal: the new "City-2" complex will be built on the site of the old five-story buildings in the Kamushki microdistrict. The project includes two modern high-rise towers on a stylish six-story stylobate, which will house office and retail space.
From demolition to construction
Demolition work on the first three vacated buildings began in November 2023. The site has now been completely cleared, and the developer has begun design work. The "City 2" concept has undergone several revisions: various development formats were discussed, including low-rise buildings and even the recreation of architectural images, such as a replica of Patriarch's Ponds. However, the site's location near Moscow City made the choice in favor of skyscrapers, which would seamlessly complement the skyline of the business district, obvious.
Architecture and concept
New renderings of the project, published by real estate expert Petr Monich, demonstrate an ambitious approach to architecture. The complex features two rounded towers with mono-pitched roofs, connected by a bridge on the lower floors. Their futuristic appearance evokes associations with the One Tower project , but with the opposite curvature – directed upward instead of downward.
Functional zoning
The complex will combine residential, commercial and public spaces:
- The residential floors are premium apartments with panoramic views of Moscow City and the city center.
- The Stylobate is a six-story podium with offices and shops that will create an active urban environment.
- Architectural solutions – modern glazing, adaptation to the business environment, creation of a comfortable public space.
The Future of City 2
The City-2 project will continue the district's large-scale transformation, strengthening its status as part of Moscow's new business cluster. Final concept approval is expected in the coming months, after which construction will begin.
Thus, the former residential area of Kamushki will soon be transformed into a prestigious place to live and work, seamlessly integrated into the dynamic rhythm of the metropolis.
