The Moscow Railway press service announced that a new 334.5-meter-long bridge across the river will be completed in the second quarter of 2020 as part of the MCD-1 project. After that, trains on the Belorussko-Savelovsky line will begin operating on it.
The 116-meter-long arched span has already been completed. Waterproofing work continues, and retaining walls are being built to support the roadbed. Once this work is completed, track laying is planned to begin immediately.
This bridge is an exact replica of the existing one, connecting the two banks of the Moskva River between Fili Station and Belorussky Railway Station. Both bridges are part of a project to create promising diametric routes and are designed to improve the speed of travel between the capital and Odintsovo. They are being implemented on a parity basis.
