Infrastructure in Concert complex Sensorium Hall

Description

According to Mayor S. Sobyanin, Moscow-City is confidently turning into a real city center. This is facilitated not only by the active settlement of modern skyscrapers, but also by the creation of a full-fledged public space on the territory of the City Square of the Moscow International Business Center - the Sensorium Hall concert hall. Its opening is scheduled for 2021, which almost every resident of the capital is eagerly awaiting.

A bit of history

The investor in the creation of Sensorium Hall, which is a multifunctional concert hall in the form of a clock with a light arrow moving along the dial (the dome of the building), was the company FUN GENERATION. It belongs to the Cyprus holding Intergeo Limited, which is controlled by Onexim Holdings Limited. And the activities of the latter are under the direct influence of the famous Mikhail Prokhorov.

The idea of the concert hall-clock belongs to the architect of Gorproekt Filipp Nikandrov, and the design project was created by the bureau of the famous Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. Mikhail Prokhorov decided to build a unique concert hall back in early 2010. This opportunity was given to him by the city authorities themselves, who suffered from a lack of funding for the construction of the Central Core of "Moscow-City".

The opening of the site was planned for 2016, but the deadlines were repeatedly postponed due to constantly arising difficulties. As Vladimir Kedrinsky (CEO of FUN GENERATION) said, it took about 2 years to put the land plot into circulation. Then it took a lot of time to coordinate the functionality with the architecture of the building.

Now the opening of Sensorium Hall is scheduled for 2021, and its cost is estimated at more than 200 million dollars. The enormous potential of the project due to its technical features and location in the heart of Moscow City, according to many, will allow M. Prokhorov to make good money on it. After all, the working day of most residents of the MIBC skyscrapers ends at about the same time when entertainment programs begin in the concert hall. Therefore, according to preliminary estimates, it will never be empty.

What is Sensorium Hall: a look from the outside

Sensorium Hall is designed for 8,000 people. At the same time, it will not be an ordinary hall for holding various ceremonial events, concerts, festivals, city thematic events. Sensorium Hall will be transformed to a convenient configuration and have a translucent opening dome.

It can easily be transformed from a concert hall into an event hall or exhibition space. The total number of possible building configurations is 20. In summer, the translucent dome will be opened and large-scale open-air parties will be held with the support of Ushuaia Club (Ibiza). No similar structures exist anywhere in the world, and now this idea is being successfully implemented on the territory of "Moscow City".

Social VR Technologies at Sensorium Hall

The equipment of the building will allow you to attend any concert in Sensorium Hall even remotely. This will be possible thanks to the use of virtual reality technologies, thanks to which you will be able to get the full sensations and emotions from the concert.

The prototype of the Sensorium Hall social VR platform was presented at the largest international gaming exhibition E3 in Los Angeles. After putting on virtual reality glasses, visitors will be transported to a fiery night party with club music played by a real DJ, attend a theatrical performance or choose another option from the many virtual rooms offered by the organizers.

Each user will have a unique opportunity to interact with avatars and artists, and not only watch the action, but also take part in it directly, as well as interact with other visitors. Events will not only be broadcast live, but also recorded in the event library, from which you can choose the one that suits your mood and desires at any time.

The project received a lot of positive feedback and $70 million in funding.

Other perspectives

The City Square and Sensorium Hall promise to become the main recreational space. Granite figures and decorative elements will be located on the building's facades. The new recreational space "Moscow-City" will acquire a chamber stage and a unique fountain-chronometer. It has 3 parts:

  • The clock is a huge arc with a radius of 100 m and a length of more than 200 m, on which 93 jets will be placed, beating water 3 m into the air. They will have different dynamic modes and serve as an indicator of time marks.

  • A mirror is a surface with an area of approximately 1,300 square meters.

  • A waterfall is a line where water flows out.

The project's investors and developers have already created and tested a software and technology complex called the "Light and Music Show". It was launched in 2019, which was timed to coincide with the opening of the City Square. Thanks to it, an excellent opportunity appeared to solve a huge number of artistic and staging tasks carried out on the city square, regardless of the weather.

The sound and lighting equipment control system makes it possible to create intricate patterns on the surface of the square, which will then be replaced by clear outlines of the elements of the clock mechanism.

The City Square will house various art objects and cafes. As for winter decorations, it is ideal for installing a festive Christmas tree and organizing an outdoor skating rink. But most importantly, the Moscow-City City Square will house a chamber stage. This will be an original art venue where events and theatrical performances can be held not only in the classical format, but also in the modern one.

Eternal summer in the metropolis

The Sensorium Hall has a unique concept. It is planned to open "Tropics in the Metropolis" there. A unique beach club will be the core of the 11-story building and will be a tropical garden spread around a beach lagoon.

Relax under the pleasant warming rays of the real or artificial sun in the shade of tropical trees and swim in the purest water of the pool in winter on the way home from work – what could be better for a Moscow office worker? After all, Prokhorov really understands what Muscovites lack so much and knows how to give it to them.

Sensorium Hall will also feature a restaurant serving signature cuisine and a concert café, where you can spend a pleasant evening or just grab a bite to eat in anticipation of the next mass event.
