A new pier will soon appear in the Moscow City district. Initially conceived as an office building, it was later converted into a residential complex. Only its shape—a glass cube—has remained unchanged. This news was reported by specialized Telegram channels covering Moscow real estate.
Features of the new project and accommodation options
The design for the future pier was approved back in 2016. It is planned to connect Presnenskaya Embankment with the "Empire II" residential complex. However, construction of the complex was suspended in 2019, and its future remains unknown.
The building was originally intended to be black with a brassy hue, but the latest renderings show the façade as light and golden. The new cube-shaped pier will be adjacent to the existing Imperia Tower and located above the underground parking garage.
Between 2016 and 2019, the building's area was estimated at 58,000 square meters. Its cadastral designation changed several times: initially, it was planned to be used for office apartments, then for residential premises.
The main building is an 18-story glass cube. It will be flanked by two elevated pedestrian walkways with a veranda planned for shops and cafes. The ground floor will house a yacht and riverboat dock, as well as a stop for aquabuses running between the City Central and Kyivsky piers.
According to the Real Estate Insider channel, there was an attempt to sell the building to an investor for the purpose of creating apartments disguised as office space. However, in 2022, Russia tightened regulations prohibiting the sale of non-residential premises as residential, prompting inspections. As a result, the project was supplemented with a pier.

Architects and their achievements
The architectural firm "Tsimailo, Lyashenko & Partners" is responsible for the design of the future building. Founded in 2001 by Alexander Tsimailo and Nikolai Lyashenko, the firm is known for its unique projects.
Tsimailo, Lyashenko & Partners is active not only in Moscow but throughout Russia and beyond. Among their projects are a church in Teriberka, a cathedral mosque in Kazan, an airport in Gelendzhik, and the Guggenheim Museum in Helsinki, Finland.
At the end of 2023, the firm's revenue amounted to 713.9 million rubles, with a net profit of 13.2 million rubles. Thanks to its experience and professionalism, the architectural firm continues to expand its geographic reach and improve the quality of its projects.
Prospects and significance of the new pier
The new pier in Moscow City will become not only an important transportation artery but also a stylish architectural feature that will add a modern touch to the embankment. Its unique design and multifunctionality will attract the attention of both Moscow residents and visitors. In addition to residential and office space, it will also house shops, cafes, and a boat stop, making it a key public space.
The project is a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics, highlighting the architects' high level of craftsmanship and their ability to create structures that become city hallmarks. The new cube-shaped pier in Moscow City promises to be one such landmark, beautifying the embankment and improving the city's infrastructure.
