MFC Tower on the Embankment

Situated on the 10th plot of the territory allocated for the construction of "Moscow-City", the MFC "Tower on the Embankment" is 3 separate buildings of different heights. It is located at the address Presnenskaya Embankment, 10 and is an executive class office complex with developed infrastructure.

History of creation

The project of "Tower on the Embankment" was drawn up by the Turkish architectural bureau Enka. It was completed in 2003 and immediately Enka began construction of the first object. This became possible due to the fact that the project was divided into 3 parts and the approval of the last and most complex component, a 60-story skyscraper, was postponed.

Thus, construction work on the 10th plot, the area of which is 1.6 hectares, began in 2003. The first to be commissioned was the 17-story building of the multifunctional complex "Tower on the Embankment", called Block A. This happened on October 11, 2004. It became the first building of the "Moscow-City" project built on the left bank of the river.

The demand for square meters in the future MIBC was huge, so all areas found their future owners and tenants 4 months before the commissioning of Block A.

Almost exactly a year later, construction of Block B, a 27-story building, was completed, but the construction of the tallest component of the complex, a 59-story skyscraper, had to wait another 2 years.

Block C was only started to be built in January 2005. The work lasted for 2 years and eventually on November 9, 2007, the tower was put into operation, which became the final stage of the creation of the multifunctional complex “Tower on the Embankment”.

Until early 2007, the Naberezhnaya Tower was the only functioning multifunctional complex in the Moscow City area. More than 40 different companies rented offices in the two completed buildings, including such well-known international organizations as IBM and Procter & Gamble. But the complex's workers faced the problem of a lack of developed infrastructure and a shortage of parking spaces.

Since Enka Holding has a solid production base, the company did not need outside financing. The multifunctional complex "Tower on the Embankment" was built with its own funds, and by the beginning of the financial crisis, almost all areas in it had already been put into operation. 200 million dollars were invested in the project.

The management and operation of the complex is carried out by the company "City Center Investment B.V.", a part of the Enka holding. It provides comprehensive solutions in providing technical support services at the facility, and its employees speak not only Russian, but also English, which ensures a high level of service. Any malfunctions and problems are eliminated in a short time, since a team of engineers, technicians, led by a dispatcher, monitor and service the engineering systems of the "Tower on the Embankment" around the clock.

Features of the construction of the "Tower on the Embankment"

The representative MFC "Tower on the Embankment" is an office complex, the only one of all the skyscrapers of "Moscow-City" built in the high-tech style. It was built using modern technologies and high-quality materials, therefore it fully meets high international quality standards. Therefore, the facility is characterized as a class A complex. Its total area is 253,994 sq. m., of which:

• Block A – 39,800 sq. m;

• block B – 53,994 sq. m;

• Block C – 160,200 sq. m.

Each building of the complex has underground floors. Thus, blocks A and B have 4 underground floors, block C – 5. It is on the minus first level that all 3 towers are united into a single whole. Public spaces and a shopping mall are located here.

The highlight of the complex is the technical floors of the second and third stages. They do not have external glazing, which creates the illusion of the fragility of the buildings. In reality, this solution ensures the high strength of the towers.

During the construction of the complex, tinted panoramic glass was used, providing a high level of sound insulation and additional energy savings. The "Tower on the Embankment" has the following:

• individual heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems (6-pipe fan coils with digital thermostats are built into the ceiling);

• communication risers and shafts for mechanical, telecommunication, electrical systems and sewerage;

• automatic fire extinguishing system;

• video surveillance and alarm system;

• warehouses with landing stages;

• 24/7 access control system.

There are 45 elevators installed here. Their design and maximum speed are selected in accordance with the needs of the facility. Therefore, there are elevators with a speed of 1 m/s, 3.5 m/s and 8 m/s.

The interiors of the offices are designed in a modern style. The designers have put a lot of effort into creating interesting and at the same time calm interiors. Therefore, the offices of the "Tower on the Embankment" have not only multi-level ceilings and high-quality chrome fittings, but also a real highlight. The introduction of bright colors, which are usually distinguished by company logos, give the premises a finished, and most importantly, individual look.

The composition of the "Tower on the Embankment" today

All three buildings of the multifunctional complex have different heights: 85, 127 and 268 m respectively. "Tower on the Embankment" is a completely self-sufficient complex. In addition to office premises of different sizes, it has everything necessary for a comfortable life.

The bulk of infrastructure facilities are concentrated on the minus first floor. Here are:

• restaurants and cafes (Fornetto, Paul, Goodman, Prime, Wabi Sabi and others);

• beauty salons, spa centers;

• fitness centers;

• notary offices;

• post office;

• medical clinics;

• numerous shops, including a wide selection of outlets of famous international brands and brands, etc.

All other underground floors are allocated for parking, which is under guard. The territory adjacent to the complex is landscaped. There are green areas and places for recreation, as well as a car park for guests of the building, designed for slightly more than 200 cars.

Today, the "Tower on the Embankment" houses the offices of numerous Russian and foreign companies, including those of international level. Among them:

You can get to the complex by car or public transport via the Third Transport Ring, turning onto Testovskaya Street.

Interesting facts and features

Before the completion of the construction of the City of Capitals MFC, the 268-meter tower of the Embankment Tower MFC was considered the tallest building in Europe, Russia and Moscow. It was 4 meters higher than the Triumph Palace residential complex.

In January 2004, a fire broke out during construction work in Block A. The 15th floor was completely filled with smoke, but no one was hurt.
