MFC City of Capitals stylobate part

Situated on the 9th plot (Presnenskaya Embankment, 8, building 1), the premium multifunctional complex "City of Capitals" became one of the first completed objects of the "Moscow-City" project and subsequently unofficially began to be considered the emblem of the new capital business quarter. The complex is two towers with unique architecture, located on a common base. This is one of the few complexes of the Moscow-City MIBC, in which a larger share of housing is allocated than office space.

History of construction

The project of the multifunctional complex "City of Capitals" was created by the architect of the American architectural bureau NBBJ Eric van Eeggeraat. Work on the construction of the complex began in 2006, but almost immediately the construction was frozen. The financial crisis that began did not contribute to the growth of investments in "City of Capitals", so the construction was resumed only in 2005 after the restructuring of the loan of the developer Capital Group by Sberbank.

As a result, the bank received the right to a part of the construction area, and the developers received the necessary funds to complete the project, and in 2009 it was commissioned. Construction work was carried out by the Turkish company Ant Yapı Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi. Today, the complex is managed by Capital Group.

Construction Features

The complex has clear geometric shapes. It is built in a futuristic style, although the roots of the architectural solution go back to the Russian constructivism of the last century and is a true embodiment of the principle of "air foundation". The stylobate part of the MFC "City of Capitals" has 17 floors and is represented by two blocks: South and North. On them stand the grandiose, as if folded from separate cubes, towers "Moscow" 302 m high and "Saint Petersburg" 257 m high.

The 76 m high stylobate is entirely dedicated to spacious premium-class offices. Common areas are designed in a single style developed by the developer Capital Group. Only the highest quality materials were used for the construction of the complex and interior decoration, and the engineering systems are thought out to the smallest detail. The windows of the complex are unbreakable triplex glass units that have passed crash tests. Therefore, the stylobate of the "City of Capitals" fully complies with class A.

One of the highlights of the office part is the glass entrance with a waterfall, which will not leave anyone indifferent. To ensure the comfort and safety of office employees, the stylobate part is fully equipped with:

• high-performance ventilation and air conditioning systems;

• 24-hour video surveillance system for the external perimeter;

• fire alarm system connected to an automatic fire extinguishing system and a notification center.

The security service controls access to the building and is responsible for maintaining order within it.

The composition of the stylobate part today

The stylobate part of the "City of Capitals" houses 80,000 sq. m. of offices of various Russian and foreign companies, including the largest players of our time. Below the office part there are public spaces and shopping galleries, where you can buy absolutely everything. There are representative offices here:

Today, the stylobate part of the "City of Capitals" is completely bought out, occupied and functioning at maximum capacity. Only individual offices are still empty and waiting for their tenants. But such offers are becoming fewer every day, since the extensive infrastructure and advantageous neighborhood make the office part of the "City of Capitals" one of the most popular in the entire "Moscow-City".

Underneath it there is a 6-level underground parking for 2,213 cars and a 4-storey public space. You can get to the office of the stylobate part of the "City of Capitals" in a few minutes on foot from one of three metro stations (Vystavochnaya, Delovoy Tsentr, Mezhdunarodnaya), by public transport or by car along Kutuzovsky Prospekt, the Garden Ring or the Third Transport Ring. It is also directly connected by underground passages to the Afimall shopping center.

Over the 11 years of its existence, the City of Capitals has managed to gain recognition from the public and experts. As a single complex, it has earned numerous awards and taken part in various competitions, where it won first place. It was recognized as the best mixed-use complex and skyscraper by the GRE Moscow Awards Emporis Skyscraper Award, as well as the complex with the most extensive infrastructure according to Knight Frank.
