Bybit Wallet - Web3 Wallet, Seed Phrase Wallet, and Features
Bybit Wallet
Bybit Wallet is the Web3 initiative of the Bybit crypto exchange, featuring a non-custodial seed phrase wallet. With this setup, users store their recovery phrases themselves and control the private keys for their blockchain addresses. This wallet differs from a Bybit exchange balance: assets in a centralized account are managed and maintained by the exchange, while assets in a seed phrase wallet are held at addresses controlled by the owner.
Which Bybit Wallet options are available
In 2025, Bybit updated its lineup of Web3 wallets. Support for the Cloud Wallet and Keyless Wallet was discontinued as of May 31, 2025. At the same time, the old DexPro, NFT, and Swap & Bridge services were discontinued in their previous formats. Therefore, the Cloud Wallet can no longer be described as a product available to new users.
The Seed Phrase Wallet remains available. It allows users to create their own addresses, restore access using a seed phrase, and use supported dApps. The current lineup of Web3 features differs from the old interfaces and instructions published before the services were discontinued.
Creating a Seed Phrase Wallet and Managing Keys
The Seed Phrase Wallet is based on a secret phrase consisting of 12, 18, or 24 words. It allows you to recover your private keys when reinstalling the app or switching to another compatible device. Bybit cannot replace a lost seed phrase and does not have access to funds in a non-custodial wallet simply because the user remembers their exchange account password.
You can create or import a Seed Phrase Wallet through the Bybit app, as well as through the Bybit Wallet browser extension in a supported environment. To access Web3 via a browser, use compatible dApp connection tools. Please note that the availability of specific buttons and features depends on the app version and region.
To use the wallet, you’ll need:
- the latest app or official extension;
- a secure backup of your seed phrase;
- a separate network and address verification for each transaction;
- the native token of the relevant blockchain to pay for gas;
- caution when connecting to third-party Web3 applications.
Never enter your seed phrase in support chat rooms, on “balance check” websites, or in airdrop claim forms. No legitimate wallet viewing operation requires you to disclose your entire recovery phrase.
Transfers, dApps, and Fees
The Seed Phrase Wallet is suitable for on-chain transfers and interacting with compatible decentralized applications. A network fee is charged for sending tokens; its base currency depends on the blockchain. USDT ERC-20 requires ETH for gas, while USDT TRC-20 uses TRON network resources and TRX. The network selection must match the recipient’s address.
The dApp, staking, and individual Web3 service features do not guarantee the availability of any trading pairs. The old built-in Swap & Bridge from the discontinued product line cannot be considered an active service. Decentralized transactions may be executed via third-party protocols; users should verify the associated fees and risks before signing a transaction.
For large transactions, it is especially important to check what permissions the smart contract is requesting. Unrestricted permission to withdraw tokens can pose a risk even in a non-custodial wallet. Signing a transaction means consenting to a specific action on the blockchain, not simply logging into a website’s interface.
Seed Phrase Wallet and Bybit Exchange Account
You should not confuse your Bybit exchange balance with a Seed Phrase Wallet. An exchange account has its own access procedures, identity verification processes, trading products, and withdrawal rules. With a non-custodial address, the private keys are held by the user, and recovery is determined by the seed phrase. Transferring funds between these options is a real transaction that may be subject to fees and verification.
A seed phrase wallet should not be considered a way to automatically bypass exchange account restrictions. Transactions on the centralized Bybit platform may require KYC verification, a supported country, and an authorized withdrawal destination. Participation in Web3 products also depends on applicable access rules. Terms and conditions for users from Russia must be evaluated separately for the exchange, the wallet, and the specific payment service.
Withdrawals to a Card and Backup Security
A standard on-chain wallet transfers cryptocurrency to blockchain addresses. It does not convert BTC or USDT into rubles with a single click without a payment intermediary. Withdrawals to a bank card are only possible through a separate, supported sales and payment channel, and such a channel may not be available for certain countries or account types.
Before depositing a significant amount into a Seed Phrase Wallet, it’s a good idea to test the backup on a small test wallet and ensure that the withdrawal network matches the receiving network. Storing your seed phrase on an unsecured cloud storage service increases the risk of compromise; an offline copy kept in a secure location is generally preferable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Bybit Cloud Wallet currently available?
No. Cloud Wallet and Keyless Wallet were discontinued on May 31, 2025. The Seed Phrase Wallet remains the current option.
How does the Seed Phrase Wallet differ from a regular Bybit account?
In the Seed Phrase Wallet, the owner controls the keys. The exchange account is managed by Bybit’s centralized infrastructure, and separate terms and conditions apply to its features.
Is verification required for a seed phrase wallet?
Creating a non-custodial address is not the same as completing an exchange’s KYC process. However, transactions through centralized services like Bybit and certain additional features may require identity verification.
Can I withdraw USDT directly to a Russian bank card?
The Seed Phrase Wallet itself does not guarantee direct withdrawal to a Russian bank card. You’ll need an accessible cryptocurrency sales channel that supports the relevant bank and jurisdiction.
Editor’s Opinion
Bybit Wallet should be viewed not as a universal add-on to the exchange, but as a standalone way to manage Web3 addresses. Its main practical advantage for existing Bybit users is the familiar ecosystem and the ability to work with non-custodial assets without transferring keys to the exchange. There is a significant limitation: some historically available features are disabled, and the instructions for Cloud Wallet and Keyless Wallet are outdated. Choosing the Seed Phrase Wallet is justified when the user understands self-custody of keys and does not rely on recovery through the exchange’s support service.
