The Moscow City Guide database contains more than 2,500 locations. Each one has been verified using multiple sources. Here’s how it works.
1
Official websites
and social media accounts of the venues
The first and most important source. If the establishment has a website or social media page, we get the information from there. An official channel won’t lie about its address and phone number.
2
Yandex.Maps
We check with the largest mapping service—it aggregates data from a variety of sources and includes up-to-date reviews. It’s especially useful for verifying whether a location actually exists and its actual address.
3
2GIS and City Directories
2GIS is one of the most accurate directories of commercial real estate and organizations in Russia. We use it as an additional way to verify addresses and phone numbers.
4
Direct contact with the object
When adding a new venue, we call or email them directly—especially when the information varies across sources or the venue is new. A live conversation with the venue manager is the best way to verify the information.
5
Business Media: RBC, Vedomosti, Kommersant
For editorial content on the real estate market, new projects, and infrastructure changes in the City, we draw on articles from leading business publications. These articles undergo our own editorial review and serve as a reliable source of facts.
6
Official press offices
and management companies
For information about the towers, developers, and major changes at the Moscow International Business Center (MIDC), please contact the press offices of the management companies directly. This is the only reliable source for information on construction, new developments, and floor plans.
7
Rosreestr and Open Government Data
To verify real estate data—cadastral numbers, owners, and square footage—we refer to Rosreestr’s open data. This is especially important for property listings.
8
Editorial Visits
The editor visits some of the locations—primarily restaurants, bars, and observation decks—in person. This is the only way to ensure that the descriptions are accurate and the photos are up to date.
9
Messages from users
and partners
Readers of the portal and our partners regularly report changes—such as closures, relocations, and changes in phone numbers. Each report is verified against other sources before any changes are made.
