Section: Digital Global Virtual Card, Rates and Terms
Volet
Volet.com offers several card programs, but Digital Global is the most versatile option for international online payments. It is a virtual Mastercard denominated in U.S. dollars, issued without a physical card, and supports online purchases, recurring payments, and contactless payments via a mobile wallet.
Digital Global is available in more than 150 countries. Russia, Belarus, the United States, and a number of other jurisdictions are on the list of exceptions. Therefore, citizenship alone does not determine eligibility: your country of residence, profile information, and the outcome of the issuer’s verification process are all important factors.

Volet.com uses a model with a separate wallet and a separate card. First, funds are deposited into the Volet.com balance, after which they are transferred to Digital Global. The issuer does not allow direct top-ups to the card using a third-party bank card. Therefore, the actual cost consists of the method used to fund the account itself and the fee for transferring funds to the card.
Upon issuance, the issuer automatically loads the first $10 onto the card. This money remains available for purchases and is not an additional fee; however, it must be available in your balance along with the cost of the order.
Digital Global’s limits are quite high. The maximum single top-up is 10,000 USD, and the monthly limit is up to 150,000 USD. Online purchase limits: up to 25,000 USD per transaction, 50,000 USD per day, and 200,000 USD per month. Specific limits may also depend on account verification and the issuer’s rules.
When paying in a currency other than USD, the Mastercard exchange rate is used. Digital Global does not charge an additional fixed conversion fee; the final amount is determined by the Mastercard exchange rate at the time of settlement.
Apple Pay and Google Pay allow you to use your virtual card not only online. After adding the card to your wallet, you can pay for purchases at point-of-sale terminals and, in some cases, withdraw cash from contactless ATMs. A separate limit applies to ATM withdrawals.
The card program blocks certain MCC categories. These include gambling, brokerage services, certain money transfers, and a number of other transactions. Therefore, it’s best to think of Digital Global as a card for regular purchases, SaaS, subscriptions, travel, and everyday expenses.
For users in Russia, there is an important restriction: the Digital Global program itself explicitly excludes Russia from the list of available countries. If a user’s profile is associated with the Russian Federation, they cannot be issued this card. For other countries, availability is determined by the current rules of Volet.com and the card issuer.
In addition to the basic fees, Digital Global charges operational fees: 0.36 USD for a declined purchase, 0.48 USD for a refund, and 0.72 USD for a transaction cancellation. In the event of repeated failed debits, charges may apply even without a purchase. Upon sign-up, 10 USD is automatically loaded onto the card’s balance; therefore, the first payment amount consists of the order price and the mandatory top-up. The funds on the card are not equivalent to a bank deposit, and the availability of the digital program depends on the country and account verification.

Editor’s Opinion
The Digital Global card offers a wide range of features: Mastercard, 3D Secure, mobile wallets, high spending limits, and a transparent official fee schedule. However, the low issuance fee shouldn’t be misleading—ongoing costs include a monthly service fee, a top-up fee, and a fixed fee for each purchase. For frequent small transactions, this adds up. Russia is explicitly excluded from Digital Global’s list of available countries, which limits the product’s use by Russian users. Therefore, the service is best suited for users residing in eligible countries with a verified profile. For them, the product is quite transparent and convenient, especially if Volet.com is already being used as their primary wallet.
