WantToPay

WantToPay offers several types of virtual cards for online purchases, recurring subscriptions, and payments while traveling. The lineup includes the Prepaid card and the rechargeable Easy, Smart, and Pro plans. The terms vary significantly, so you shouldn’t choose a card based solely on the lowest issuance fee.

As of November 2026, the following options are available:

  • Prepaid—a card with a fixed balance ranging from $10 to $200, with a $0 service fee;
  • Easy—$990 ₽ issuance fee, $6 monthly service fee;
  • Smart—$1,590 ₽ issuance fee, $6 monthly service fee;
  • Pro – issuance fee of 3,490 ₽, monthly fee of $6.

The minimum deposit for the main plans is $10 or more. The Easy plan is primarily designed for subscriptions and online payments. The Smart plan adds support for Apple Pay and Google Pay and is better suited for travel. The Pro plan is designed for higher transaction volumes and expanded limits.

Fees depend on the card. For Prepaid and Easy, a successful transaction costs approximately $0.25–$0.50; for Smart—$0.50–$1.00, with a possible additional fee for contactless payments; for Pro, the published formula is $0.50 + 1% of the payment amount. A fee is also charged for declined transactions: according to the fee schedule, $0.25–$0.50 for Prepaid and Easy, $0.40–$1.00 for Smart, and $1.00 for Pro. Repeatedly retrying a declined payment without checking the reason is not cost-effective.

Top-ups are available in rubles and cryptocurrency. For ruble top-ups, the app’s exchange rate is used. For cryptocurrency top-ups, the fee depends on the plan: Easy—9%, Smart—7%. The actual cost of a top-up includes the fee and the exchange rate; the credited amount is visible before the transaction is confirmed.

Limits also vary. Daily, monthly, and one-time limits differ between plans. The Smart plan has higher monthly limits, while the Pro plan has a separate monthly limit and a different set of features. Therefore, a more expensive card does not necessarily mean the highest limit for every parameter.

Mobile wallet support:

  • Prepaid — no;
  • Easy — no;
  • Smart — Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported;
  • Pro – Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported.

WantToPay operates as a service providing access to virtual cards and should not be viewed as a traditional bank. KYC and additional requirements may apply to certain products. Before applying, it’s a good idea to check the current terms and conditions for a specific card, especially if you plan on high transaction volume, regular payments, or using it while traveling.

The total cost of a card is determined by the issuance fee, monthly fee, reloads, and transactions. The Easy card is inexpensive to start with but has a monthly service fee. The Smart card is more expensive to issue but offers mobile wallets. The Prepaid card is convenient for one-time purchases if you don’t need to top it up or use it long-term.

Editor’s Opinion

WantToPay stands out for its wide range of pricing plans, but this is precisely why it requires careful consideration. The low issuance fee for the Easy plan may seem attractive, but with long-term use, a monthly fee is added, and individual transactions and declined payments are also subject to fees. The Smart plan is more appealing for travel thanks to Apple Pay and Google Pay, but it should be evaluated with purchase and reload fees in mind. The Prepaid plan is suitable for one-time payments without a monthly service fee, when a reloadable card isn’t needed. Before applying, it’s best to estimate your expected spending, the number of transactions, and your preferred top-up method, and then compare the total costs over several months—not just the card’s initial price.
