On June 27, Victory Park on Poklonnaya Hill will host the 5th annual “It’s Time to Live” evening charity run in support of adult leukemia patients. This is not just a sporting event, but an opportunity to help people undergoing treatment for blood cancer: the funds raised will go toward the Leukemia Foundation’s support programs.
The event is designed for participants of all fitness levels: distances of 500 m, 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km are available, as well as a team format called the “Foundation Cup.” The starting area will be located on the Entrance Plaza of Victory Park, near the “Park Pobedy” metro station.
During the event, guests and participants will be able to join the bone marrow donor registry. To do so, they will undergo typing—a small and safe blood draw that takes about five minutes. For leukemia patients, this could be a real chance to find a compatible donor faster and receive the necessary help.
Registration is open at timetorun.ru. June 27 is a great reason to run your distance and take a step that could mean the difference between life and death for someone.
