The other day I visited the Pushkin restaurant-cafe at 26a Tverskoy Boulevard, Moscow. From the outside the establishment looks attractive: a neat sign, a cozy entrance area. Inside, the interior is done in calm tones with classic decor elements, soft sofas and unobtrusive lighting. The first impression is quite pleasant: the staff greets guests politely, the tables are conveniently located, and the general atmosphere is conducive to a calm conversation. However, my final score is 3 out of 5. The main reason is the ambiguous menu. The choice of dishes seemed limited to me, some items did not correspond to the stated description, and the taste and presentation were, unfortunately, quite average. The prices were quite high, which causes a dissonance between the stated level and the actual quality. The service was generally polite, but not the most efficient: when the hall was full, you had to wait a long time to place an order or ask for the bill. The interior certainly deserves praise for its coziness and attention to detail, but the main impression of a restaurant is usually made up of a combination of atmosphere, cuisine and service. Pushkin has coziness, but the cuisine and speed of service are not up to the expected level. Perhaps the establishment will appeal to those who value a calm atmosphere and are not too picky about the taste of the dishes, but I expected more for the money I spent there. Overall, if you are looking for unusual gastronomic experiments or high service, it is unlikely to satisfy these requests. I hope that in the future the restaurant will improve the menu and optimize the service, because the location and interior are conducive to a higher level.
