Federation Tower East MFC

The Vostok Tower, part of the Federation MFC, is the tallest building in the complex at 12 Presnenskaya Embankment. This building features platinum apartments and premium offices, created using the most innovative construction technologies and the best materials. History of the construction of the Federation Tower "East"

The skyscraper earned its name due to its location: it is located in the eastern part of the site allocated for the construction of the multifunctional complex. Initially, in the design documentation it was simply called Tower A, but in November 2006 it received a new name, which has firmly taken root in the minds of Muscovites and guests of the capital. The best architect of the American architectural bureau SPEECH P. Shveger worked on the creation of the complex project in close cooperation with S. Tchoban.

The construction of the complex began in 2006. Initially, the construction work was carried out by the Mirax Group (Potok), which in 2013 was renamed ZAO Federation Tower, which is the owner of the tower today. The developer of the project was AEON Corporation.

But since the Federation Tower "East" was the largest construction project and required careful consideration of every detail, Chinese companies CSCEC, YUANDA were involved in its implementation. It is the second stage of the facility and during the construction work it underwent a number of changes: the area of the base increased, a trapezoidal core was formed, and the weight of the building increased.

In 2009, Potok representatives said that there was a risk of financial difficulties that could lead to the need to drastically reduce the height of Vostok to 69 floors. But, fortunately, this was not necessary, and already in March of the following year the company announced the decision to implement the planned project in full, which it successfully implemented in 2017.

"Vostok" was built at different rates. The underground and stylobate parts were built at an average rate and grew by about 2 floors per month. The levels up to 33-34 technical floors were built even faster: 4 floors per month. But the developer spent about 5 months on the technical floors themselves and the creation of outriggers. Thus, by May 2008, "Vostok" had only 45 floors. Then there was a suspension of construction work, which was resumed only in 2011.

Two years later, S. Polonsky sold his business, and his company Potok was renamed ZAO Federation Tower. The deal was delayed again, and work was resumed only at the end of 2013.

By 2014, the Federation Tower East had become the tallest skyscraper in Russia and Europe, after which work proceeded at a relatively steady pace and was fully completed on November 15, 2017.

Today, the management and operation of the building is carried out by VB Service LLC.

Construction Features

The Vostok Tower stands on a powerful foundation of 2 slabs, the formation of which required more than 14,000 m3 of concrete. This became a record and was listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The decision to pour the second foundation slab on top of the first was made after the work on the construction of the underground floors had already begun. It led to an increase in the reliability of the building, but took away one floor and delayed other construction work for almost six months.

Thin stone profiles, the width of which decreases as the height increases, were used to decorate the facades of the three-sided skyscraper. It used panoramic glazing with glass specially developed for the Federation by Chinese specialists.

The Vostok uses the best of the existing innovative developments, including:

• system of independent water sources;

• argon structural glazing that reflects sunlight and maintains an optimal air temperature in the building;

• fire zones;

• continuous monitoring of the condition of engineering equipment;

• modern ventilation system;

• hidden facade operation system;

• smart building management system (BMS);

• central air conditioning system with individual climate control;

• availability of independent power sources.

The skyscraper is equipped with safe elevator systems, made in Germany and Switzerland by ThyssenKrupp and Schindler. Among them are Twin systems, which allow two cabins to move independently in one elevator shaft.

East Tower today

Vostok has 95 above-ground and 7 underground floors. Its height is 373.7 m. Up to the 68th floor, the building houses offices of varying sizes, which are currently rented by medium and small companies. Since the complex was only recently put into operation, not all floors are fully operational.

The Federation complex has a conference hall, a banquet hall, catering and open coworking spaces. Developed infrastructure, the prestige of the Moscow City area and advantageous proximity to market leaders make business development in the Vostok tower quick and easy.

Public spaces have an author's design. Natural stone, valuable wood species and decorative plaster were used to create the interiors, which is completely consistent with elite real estate.

The tower has only platinum apartments and penthouses, starting from the 69th floor. Here you can buy studio apartments of a very small area of about 48 sq. m., as well as huge three-room and multi-room apartments. The crowning glory of the "East" is the penthouse of more than 1,400 sq. m., located at a mind-boggling height.

The building's residents have a 24-hour concierge service that can help them with any household issues. The lower floors have a parking lot for 874 cars.

Residents and employees of Vostok have access to the entire infrastructure of the Federation MFC and the entire Moscow City. The complex itself includes:

Interesting facts and features

The Vostok has the highest observation deck in Europe. It is located on the 89th floor at a height of 360 m above the ground and has 9 interactive zones.

During construction, a fire broke out on the top floor of the tower. 25 fire and rescue teams and 4 special helicopters were called in to extinguish it. The flames were visible from tens of kilometers away. After the accident was liquidated, it became clear that it did not cause significant damage to the skyscraper and did not result in human casualties.

The skyscraper has received numerous awards and prizes, including the Grand Prix of the International Property Awards “World's Best Property”.
