Well, that’s it — things have started moving. Yesterday, at the site of “One” — the very last available plot within the original boundaries of Moscow City — they ceremonially poured the first cubic meter of concrete. The monolith phase has begun.
For those who haven’t been following: the tower will be 379 meters tall, with 90 floors. The developer is MR, and the architecture is handled by the Genpro bureau. Completion is scheduled for 2030. Oleg Bogdan, the project’s chief architect, attended the ceremony. A well-known figure in the professional community — he previously worked with Erik van Egeraat on Mercury Tower and later took part in developing the concept of Europe’s tallest residential skyscraper. He’s also a recipient of the European Property Awards. In short, not a случайный человек.
The key feature of “One” is that these will be the first true apartments in the business district. Not serviced apartments — actual residential units. Alongside that: prime-class offices, retail, and a private residents’ club. The lower floors will host a shopping gallery and a restaurant cluster curated by Alexander Sysoev from GreatList. There will also be a clinic and a fitness center with a swimming pool. The pool, they say, will be under a glass dome. We’ll see.
And at around the 338-meter mark, they plan to create a park. The highest in Europe, according to the developer. Sounds bold.
As mentioned, this is the last available plot. Once completed, the skyline of Moscow City will be fully formed. For now, six years of construction lie ahead. Let’s go.
