Russia’s tallest residential skyscraper hasn’t even risen from its foundation yet, but it already has a logo—and not just any logo. The visual identity for “Aurus Residences” in City-2 was developed by Artemy Lebedev Studio. The project was released on June 30; it took the studio 66 days to complete.

What They Designed
The logo is vertical—which makes sense for a 394.6-meter-tall building. It clearly depicts the silhouette of two towers with their signature smooth curves: thin lines stretch upward, while the logo widens toward the bottom, echoing the shape of the stylobate—that very “skirt” at the base, which will house a private park featuring the landscape of the Curonian Spit.
The colors are gold and platinum. No surprises here: this is a premium project, and the partner is the Aurus automotive brand, so the color palette is instantly recognizable.
An interesting detail: the logo was created in three versions with varying degrees of detail. The main version is the most elaborate, with thin rays pointing upward. The medium version is simpler, designed for smaller surfaces. And the most compact version was created specifically for small souvenirs. Judging by the presentation images, the logo is intended for use everywhere—from interiors and business cards to construction helmets and coffee cups.

Who’s Behind It
Erken Kagarov served as the project’s art director—the very same person whose team created the Moscow Metro logo back in the day. The designer is Kydana Ignatieva.
For real estate development projects, it’s rare to bring in a studio of this caliber during the construction phase. Typically, developers settle for a logo created by in-house designers or a small agency, and they don’t tackle serious branding until closer to completion. Here, however, the approach is different: “Strana Development” is clearly building “Aurus Residences” not just as a residential complex, but as the flagship brand of a new cluster. There is, incidentally, a precedent—Lebedev Studio has already worked on the brand identity for “Lakhta Center” in St. Petersburg. Now its portfolio includes the two tallest buildings in the country: the tallest building overall and the tallest residential building.

As a reminder, the project
"Aurus Residences"—the first complex in the future City-2 district on 2nd Krasnogvardeisky Proezd. Two towers, 83 and 96 stories tall, stand on a shared stylobate; the complex features 1,774 apartments, architecture by the APEX firm, and wave-like glass facades. The dominant tower, standing 394.6 meters tall, will become the tallest residential building in Russia and Europe. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2031.
So City-2 now has not only its first tower but also its first logo. All that remains is to wait for the golden silhouette from the logo to catch up to the original in height.
